Sibmissions for the Zayed Sustainability Prize 2027 cycle has now opened. An increased sum of US $7.2 million stands to be won.
It will be recalled that the 2026 Cycle was won by The BASE Foundation in the Energy category for its pioneering Cooling-as-a-Service model, increasing access to efficient cooling without upfront investment.
Other 2026 winners include schools from Canada, Uganda, Jordan, TĂĽrkiye, Maldives, and Thailand, who focused on projects from AI-powered wildfire prevention to circular farming.
The 2026 cycle total prize fund was US $5.9 million, and was distributed among the 11 winners as follows:
Organizational Categories: US $1,000,000 was awarded to each of the winners in the five main categories:-
* Health: Jade (UAE)
* Food: N&E Innovations (Singapore)
* Energy: BASE Foundation (Switzerland)
* Water: Status (Brazil)
* Climate Action: Build up Nepal (Nepal)
For Global High Schools Category: A total of US $900,000 was divided among six schools, with each regional winner receiving US $150,000.
Organizational finalists also received US $100,000 in funding, while school finalists received US $25,000 to support their projects.
The Prize continues its legacy of empowering innovative, scalable solutions in Health, Food, Energy, Water, Climate Action, and Global High Schools.
These January 2026 winners were awarded during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) in January 2026.
