Senegal  Eyes  NNPCL Expertise To Bolster Downstream Growth

Nigeria’s state oil company, NNPC Limited, has opened talks with Senegal on potential collaboration in the downstream petroleum sector, signaling deepening regional energy partnerships in West Africa.

The discussions took place at the NNPC Towers in Abuja, where the Group Chief Executive Officer, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, received a Senegalese delegation led by the country’s Energy Minister, Birame Souley Diop.

During the meeting, the Senegalese delegation underscored its ambition to strengthen its downstream petroleum industry and tapped Nigeria’s experience as a model.

The minister highlighted Senegal’s “commitment to strengthen its downstream petroleum sector” and expressed interest in “leveraging NNPC Ltd’s technical expertise and operational experience in the field.”

Responding on behalf of the GCEO, NNPC’s Chief Financial Officer, Adedapo Segun, reaffirmed the company’s readiness to support regional energy development through strategic partnerships.

He pledged NNPC’s support in “exploring mutually beneficial opportunities,” stressing “the importance of regional cooperation in advancing industrial growth and energy security across West Africa.”
